These Reputation Flair Terms govern use of the Reputation Flair Devvit application and related service features. By using or configuring the service, a user or moderator accepts these terms. Users who do not agree should not use the service.
Reputation Flair may also be referred to as RF, Reputation Flair System, RFS, reputation-flair, Bot Shield, Human Verification Module, Subreddit Stats by Reputation Flair, or the Reputation Portal. These names refer to the same underlying service unless a page states otherwise.
Definitions
; Application : The Reddit Devvit application identified as Reputation Flair. ; Service : Reputation Flair and its related features made available through Reddit and Devvit. ; Operator : Andrew Lehti and/or Metopedia, as applicable to the published app listing. ; Reddit Platform : Reddit, Devvit, Reddit APIs, Reddit services, Reddit content, Reddit permissions, and related Reddit policies and infrastructure. ; User : A person or entity using, accessing, configuring, moderating through, or interacting with the service. ; Subreddit : A Reddit community where the service is installed or used.
Relationship to Reddit
Reputation Flair operates on Reddit's Devvit platform and depends on Reddit infrastructure, permissions, APIs, content, and policies. Use of the service is also subject to Reddit's applicable user, privacy, developer, Devvit, Data API, and platform requirements. The service does not require a Reddit password and does not ask users to provide Reddit login credentials.
Eligibility
Users must be at least 13 years old and eligible to use Reddit and the subreddit where Reputation Flair is installed. Users below the age of majority in their jurisdiction may use the service only with appropriate parental or guardian involvement and permission.
Description of the service
Depending on moderator configuration, Reputation Flair may provide:
- subreddit-specific reputation scoring;
- good and bad reputation counters;
- broad discourse trigger categories;
- user flair updates and reputation-based flair color;
- preserved user flair-head text;
- subreddit leaderboards and transparency dashboards;
- daily and all-time subreddit statistics;
- RFstats moderator notes;
- review routing and public-view removal routing;
- verification-only participation gates;
- human-verification challenges and verification badges;
- verification-only removal restoration;
- portal custom posts and command replies such as
!rfcheck me
,
!rfcheck op
, and
!rfcheck u/username
;
- rate limits and abuse-prevention controls.

The service may change over time. Features may be added, modified, suspended, or removed.
Moderator configuration
Subreddit moderators are responsible for choosing settings appropriate to their subreddit. Configuration may affect flair, review routing, removal routing, verification, restoration limits, display behavior, dashboard behavior, and command behavior. Reputation Flair may behave differently across subreddits because each subreddit may use different settings.
User conduct
Users must not use the service for unlawful activity, harassment, abuse, platform disruption, spam, vote manipulation, scraping, unauthorized data harvesting, evasion of safeguards, or any activity prohibited by Reddit rules, Devvit rules, subreddit rules, or applicable law. Access may be restricted, suspended, or terminated if use creates legal, security, abuse, moderation, technical, or platform-risk concerns.
Reputation scores, flair, and statistics
Reputation values generated by the service are subreddit-specific approximate operational signals. They are not official Reddit account status, legal findings, employment-screening data, background-check data, or proof of character, identity, or intent.
Scores, flair, leaderboards, command replies, dashboard values, mod notes, and transparency values may update or recalculate after new activity, configuration changes, app updates, bug fixes, moderation actions, verification changes, or data cleanup. The operator does not guarantee that these values will be accurate, uninterrupted, complete, permanent, or available indefinitely.
Moderation assistance and removal behavior
When enabled by moderators, Reputation Flair may route content for review, apply public-view removals, update moderator notes, or mark moderation state. The service assists moderation and does not replace moderator judgment. Moderators remain responsible for enforcing subreddit rules and Reddit rules, and users remain responsible for content they post or comment.
If content triggers normal removal rules, that removal reason takes priority over verification-only gating. Content removed for normal moderation reasons is not intended to be restored later as verification-only content.
Human verification
When enabled, Reputation Flair may provide human-verification challenges. Verification may affect flair, verification badges, participation gates, restoration of verification-only removals, and dashboard fields. Verification does not guarantee identity, trustworthiness, safety, or rule compliance. It records only the service's current verification state for the subreddit and configured feature set.
Verification may expire. In the current design, expiration is evaluated lazily when a verified user later posts or comments after expiration rather than through a continuous background scan.
Verification-only removed content
If enabled, the service may temporarily remove posts or comments only because a user is not verified. If restore-after-verification is enabled, eligible verification-only removed items may later be approved after the user verifies, subject to configured caps.
Restoration is not guaranteed. It may fail because of Reddit platform behavior, permission limits, deleted content, moderator actions, configuration changes, app errors, or other technical reasons.
Portal, commands, and dashboards
The service may create or repair a subreddit portal post. The portal may show dashboards, leaderboards, transparency data, and lookup features. Commands and dashboard lookups are rate-limited and may be disabled, ignored, delayed, cached, unavailable, incomplete, or changed.
Data use and privacy
The service retains only data reasonably needed to operate, secure, improve, and administer the service. Records may be stored temporarily or persistently in Redis or related Devvit runtime storage for scoring, caching, statistics, leaderboards, moderation-safe operations, verification, rate-limiting, abuse prevention, audit, or diagnostics. Use of the service is also governed by the Reputation Flair privacy policy.
Prohibited surveillance uses
Users may not use the service to scrape Reddit, harvest data outside authorized access paths, overload systems, identify users outside Reddit, de-anonymize users, re-identify users across unrelated datasets, conduct background checks, or create surveillance-style datasets.
Changes to rules, settings, and stored data
Reputation Flair may change scoring rules, categories, thresholds, flair format, verification rules, portal design, dashboard behavior, command behavior, storage schema, subreddit settings, or other operational settings. When significant changes occur, the service may purge, rebuild, overwrite, or stop using stored data to preserve consistency, technical integrity, and moderation safety.
Intellectual property and feedback
The service's software, logic, design, branding, text, non-user-generated content, and related materials are owned by the operator or licensors. Reddit platform materials remain subject to Reddit's policies and the rights of their respective owners. Feedback, suggestions, bug reports, and feature requests may be used to improve, modify, operate, or maintain the service without compensation or obligation.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The service is provided on an as is and as available basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, warranties are disclaimed, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, availability, accuracy, reliability, security, and loss-free operation.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, scores, access, goodwill, reputation, verification status, leaderboard position, moderation outcome, or use arising from or related to the service. If liability cannot be excluded, total liability is limited to the lesser of the amount paid directly for the service in the prior 12 months or USD $100.
Indemnity
To the fullest extent permitted by law, users agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the app operator and related parties from claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from misuse of the service, violation of these terms, violation of Reddit or subreddit rules, or violation of applicable law.
Changes to these terms
The operator may update the service or these terms at any time. Material changes may be reflected by updating the date on this page and providing notice where appropriate. Continued use after changes take effect means the revised terms are accepted.
Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, United States, except where applicable law or Reddit platform terms require otherwise.
